Worried Eartlings (WE)

We are a group of worried earthlings. We are concerned about the current geopolitical landscape: instead of coming together to address the existential threats facing us all, humanity has become increasingly divided, and the dominant voices on the global stage appear out of touch with reality.

Therefore, we have developed a concrete vision for a democratic geopolitical system and a method to build it:

Through careful reflection, we have developed a set of hypotheses to identify why humanity needs to create a better geopolitical system, suggestions for what such a system might look like, and ideas for how it can be achieved.

Our analysis points to a structural cause: the fusion of cultural identity and political governance. This has locked humanity into competing loyalties that prevent cooperation and realistic problem-solving. Only by separating these domains can peace and effective global coordination be achieved.

We have chosen to remain anonymous for two reasons.

First, our thoughts challenge current trends of separatism, nationalism, and religious fundamentalism to such a degree that we fear for our safety. Yet we feel a strong obligation to share them, because if we as a species cannot overcome these trends, we will not survive the multiple crises now unfolding.

Second, we wish to counterbalance the exaggerated individualism of our time. It does not matter who we are; only ideas and goals matter. The focus must shift back to the collective and the commons to restore ecological balance and promote social justice.

We call on all our fellow worried Earthlings to consider our hypotheses and proposals. They are a collective effort, drawing inspiration from the work of thousands of thinkers throughout history and in the present. We hope to contribute to a necessary new focus in the broader political discourse.

We urge all people to come together and reclaim our planet as a commons, paving the way for a peaceful, sustainable, and prosperous global civilisation that benefits all forms of life.
